Icicle ears

Friends don't let friends run with an icicle ear. They let them run with two icicle ears and then snap a photo of it. Then blog it. A fifteen miler in 15 degree weather around the valley. Drank Stovepipe Porter by Otter Creek Brewery (VT).

Episode 29 - Sean's Shoes

We were joined by Sean Gavor for an easy 12 miler around town. Sean has adopted the whole minimalist approach to running and here demonstrates his Feelmax 2mm thick barely there wonder slippers. It was about 30 degrees farenheit. We discussed our annual goals and ambitions, some too audacious for publication. We drank Sam Adam's Winter Lager.

1st Thursday Night Club Run

5 Miles easy. Friends don't let friends run in the dark, in unfamiliar territory, and into steel pipe gates. Dave is still limping along afterward. Hopefully run #280 on Friday will be okay. Wait till you see what we do to our new inductees. That's you Englishman! and Perry!

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

If you got this far we know you have an interest. These are answers to some of the frequent e-mail inquiries received:

1. What do I have to do to join the Highlands Hashers?

Just show up. 99% of life is just showing up.

2. Is there any money involved? There are no club fees at this time. At most, you might purchase a membership in USATF and spend some money at a local pub. We do group orders for singlets/t-shirts/sweatshirts. That's pretty much it.

3. Do I have to run fast?
No. We have members at various fitness levels. On Thursday evenings we try to stick together at around 8:30 pace or sometimes break into two groups. One fast. One less fast and more talkative. For those not up to 5 miles we do offer 3 miles and 4.5 loops that start and finish at the same location.

4. Do I have to hash? No. It is fun though.

5. Do I have to drink beer? No. We respect everyone's personal decisions regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Completed Events 2010

This page is the placeholder for completed events in 2010. Any member who completes a race should e-mail the result link to Dave. Gene was supposed to do this, but he's selling beefsteak tickets.
