We had a good group travel to Asbury Park for the annual Polar Bear Races. The boardwalk south of the convention center was under repair, so we headed north for a bit and then hooked left in the winds of Valhalla and the sands of the Sahara. We all got our 3.3 mile PR. Bob took home a confused dark furred bear (actually two if you look close.) by claiming 3d in the old guy category. Butters is to be complimented for suggesting Pete and Elda's for the XXL pizza eating challenge. Hey, at least we brought home t-shirts. A fine fun day to end the season. Happy New Year! [no, we did not plunge this year. Sorry. Call us what you will. We who wore shorts for the race are still picking the sand out of the pores.]

The Highlands Hashers now have a facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/HighlandsHashers
So check it out, and "Like" us. I mean really, really LIKE us.
(Google has just alerted me to the fact that Sally Field actually said "I can't deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!" - Who am I to argue with Google. Did you know that she played Tom Hanks' love interest in one movie while playing his mother in another movie? Talk about versatile. Thanks again, Google)
Oh, but enough about Sally Field. Why are you even still reading this? Check out our facebook page, then go for a run.

2012 Hashathon
Butters and Gonad attended the 2012 Hashathon. It was postponed due do FEMA trucks staged in the parking lot shortly after Hurricane Sandy.... And there were some rather large trees down along the course and much evidence of reconstructed boardwalks and stairs. A drizzly rain kept the course slippery and several felled trees were left in place as proper hazards. No one was injured and a good run was had by all. Our appreciation goes to the race organizers for keeping the tradition alive.

Snake Hill Road Loop
Before |
After |
Anyone up for it, let me know. If Dave isn't there, we don't necessarily have to leave at Zero Dark Thirty, but I have to tell you, there is something really nice about it.
